Definition
- lisenssi eli käyttöoikeus tarkoittaa oikeudenhaltijan immateriaalioikeudella suojattuun teokseen myöntämää oikeutta hyödyntää suojan kohdetta. Käyttöoikeus voi olla myös rinnakkainen, jolloin alkuperäisellä tekijällä tai keksijällä tai jollakin muulla käyttäjällä on vastaava tai toisen sisältöinen käyttöoikeus samaan kohteeseen. Mikäli käyttöoikeus on yksinomainen, teosta tai keksintöä ei saa hyödyntää kukaan muu kuin käyttöoikeuden haltija (PRH)
- a license, or right of use, means the right granted by the rightholder to a work protected by an intellectual property right to exploit the object of protection. The license may also be concurrent, in which case the original author or inventor or another user has a similar or different content license to the same item. If the license is exclusive, the work or invention may not be exploited by anyone other than the licensee.
