Definition
- Proper shipping name, supplemented as necessary with the correct technical name, by which a dangerous substance or article may be correctly identified, or which is sufficiently informative to permit identification by reference to generally available literature

A specific chemical/technical descriptor required to supplement the PSN for generic/N.O.S. entries; typically shown in parentheses after the PSN.
OR
The additional chemical or biological name of a substance required in transport documentation and package markings when a proper shipping name is of the 'not otherwise specified' (n.o.s.) type. It identifies the constituent(s) that most contribute to the hazard.
Anmärkning
- When required, provide up to two most hazardous constituents; appears as PSN (Technical name).
