- reference to the CITES listing category (Appendix I, II or III) under which a species is included; used to determine permitting and trade conditions

- Appendix I: highest protection; Appendix II: controlled trade; Appendix III: protected in at least one Party. Record the Appendix value (I/II/III) and, where relevant, the listing year or reservation status.
