Definition
- a country in which a particular specimen of fauna, flora, or derivative originated, as required in CITES and similar trade permits
Note
- The specimen country of origin is the country in which the specimens were taken from the wild, bred in captivity or artificially propagated, except in the case of plant specimens that cease to qualify for an exemption from the provisions of CITES.
