Definition

a globally unique identifier assigned to a consignment to enable consistent referencing and tracking across the international supply chain, customs declarations, transport documents, and regulatory filings

Note

The UCR is recommended by the WCO SAFE Framework and Data Model as a standard reference for consignments, supporting risk assessment, supply chain security, and trade facilitation. It is normally generated by the trader or their agent at the time of export.
