Definition

an agent formed by persons or other agents that has an identifiable structure and pursues a shared purpose as a collective entity

Note

An organisation may be legally constituted or informal and may include a company, partnership, association, foundation, public authority, international organisation, consortium or comparable collective entity. An organisation does not necessarily have legal personality unless it is also classified as a legal person. An organisation becomes an economic operator when it acts in a commercial or professional capacity. Economic operator is therefore a contextual capacity rather than a narrower synonym of organisation: an economic operator may also be a natural person, such as a sole trader or self-employed person.
