Definition
  • Toimija (organisaatio tai yksilö), jolla on valtuudet luoda PID-tunniste, allokoida PID-tunniste tietylle objektille tai entiteetille ja tarjota ja ylläpitää PID-tunnisteen tarkkoja ydinmetatietoja. PIDin omistajuuden täytyy olla aina selvillä, esimerkiksi metatiedoissa. PID-omistaja vastaa PIDien asianmukaisesta hallinnasta ja sen ominaisuuksien ajantasaisuudesta. 
  • An actor (an organisation or individual) who has the control to create a PID, assign PID to an entity and provide and maintain accurate Kernel Information for the PID. It must be clear at all times who is the PID Owner, for example through metadata. The PID Owner is responsible for proper management of PIDs and to keep the attribute set up-to-date. 
Note
  • Useimmissa tapauksissa PID-omistaja on mieluiten organisaatio, mutta esimerkiksi ORCIDin tapauksessa se on yleensä yksilö (tutkija itse). 
  • In most cases PID Owner is preferably an organisation, but for example in case of ORCID it is usually an individual (researcher).
