Definition
  • Arvo, jolla kohde yksilöidään yksiselitteisesti tietyn kontekstin tai järjestelmän sisällä tai sen ulkopuolella. Voi olla pysyvä tunniste, paikallinen tunniste, tai joskus myös sisäinen tunniste. Tunniste, joka on palvelussa kohteen pääasiallinen yksilöivä tunniste on avaintunniste.
  • A value by which an item is unambiguously identified within or outside a particular context or system. It can be a persistent identifier, a local identifier, or sometimes an internal identifier. The identifier that is the main unique identifier of the item in the service is the key identifier.

  • ISSN, ISBN, OID-pohjainen oppijanumero, henkilötunnus, pysyvät tunnisteet, kuten esim. DOI, URN, ORCID.
