Note

Tilastoyksikköjä ovat esimerkiksi luonnollinen henkilö, kotitalous, kunta ja yritys. Tilastoyksikkö voi olla myös tapahtuma, kuten rikos tai liikenneonnettomuus.
Tilastointiyksikkö on eri asiaa kuin tilastoyksikkö. Tilastointiyksikkö on kohde, johon tilastotieto liitetään tai jota tilastotieto kuvaa. Esimerkiksi alueet ovat tilastointiyksiköitä.
